My First Award.

I'm so excited that Kate from Seriously Kate thought my little ole blog was worthy of an award.  I feel I should have a speech ready {I would like to thank all the little people....}

The Liebster Award is given to bloggers who are new or are up and comers in the blogosphere and have fewer than 200 followers. The award is then passed along to other bloggers of the same criterion.

Now for The Liebster Award Rules:

1. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you, then create 11 new questions for the bloggers you pass the award to.
3. Choose 11 new bloggers (with less than 200 followers) to pass the award to and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them about the award.
5. No tag backs.

Eleven Random Facts

1. When I was younger I wanted to have at least ten kids and in the back of my mind I still kind of do but realistically I know that isn't an option.

2. Starting in April, I will no longer have a job.  I am taking some time off to spend with my son and focus on my family.  I will also be using this time to decide if we will be expanding our family a little more.  I have not been without a job since I joined the working world back in 2002 and I am extremely scared.

3.  I haven't gotten a haircut in over a year.  When I lived in Louisiana I had a hairstylist I would see about every two months.  She gave me a great haircut and color at cost.  When I moved to Texas I tried several different places and haven't found one I am pleased with.  My hair is this awkward wavy/thick/kinky combo.  I know my perfect stylist is out there and I'm still searching {hint hint: if you are a stylist in my area, hit me up!}

4.  I have a weird obsession with anything zombies.  No, I don't believe zombies will take over the world.  Some people like vampires; I like zombies. I think it I am obsessed with how obsessed other people are of zombies. {does that make sense?!?}

5. I feel as if I have grown up so much in the last three years.  I pay more attention to the economy and politics and actually love debating about them.  I think everyone should be aware of what is going on around them.  Things like saving money, organization, and home improvements excite me.  Some of my friends think this is strange but I am honestly happy with it.  {I do like my occasional night out on the town but then I miss my kid too much}

6.  I want to live on a small farm.  I want to eat fresh eggs, have a couple of animals running around, grow my own veggies, etc.  Not that easy when I live in the suburbs.

7.  I usually force my husband to have "family meetings" with me where we just reconnect.  I will talk about things we have coming up, financially where we stand,  fears that I have, etc.  I make notes and conducted it like a business meeting.  Granted we normally only see each other about two hours a day except when we both have Mondays off {another reason why I am taking some time off}. If I don't do this, we have little notes all around the house that get lost or unread and texts that get forgotten.

8.  Last year, I started really focusing on my health.  I have always been a little bit bigger than most but I suffered from severe postpartum depression after my son.  It lasted about a year and half.  During this time, I just basically gave up with what I looked like.  Never wore make up, threw my hair up in a ponytail everyday, wore yoga pants and a t shirt everyday, and ate whatever I wanted.  {My poor husband!}  I am so dedicated to my health and overall well being now and plan to lose 100 pounds by my 30th!

9.  Justin and I hope to travel to all 50 states together before we die {does that sound demented??}

10. I usually clean my house with an apron on.  Usually because I'm afraid I'm going to get ruin my clothes with the cleaning products; other times it's because I'm channeling my inner 1950's housewife.

11.  My son fell asleep at 7 o'clock tonight.  I'm in deep trouble.

Eleven Questions for Me from Kate

1. What inspired you to begin blogging?
     To be honest, it was something my friends and I did to pass the time but then it turned into a way to document the things that went on in my life.

2. If you had to watch the same movie over and over for a day, which would it be?
    Either The Prosposal, Stand by Me, or Something Borrowed.

3. Do you prefer living in the city, the country, or somewhere in between?
    Ugh, such a hard question!  I would love to live in the country but be close enough to visit the city.  I am a country and city girl and need both in certain amounts!

4. If you could choose any profession, meaning you'd have the skill set required and money was not a deciding factor, what would you do?
    I would be a traveling photographer.  Maybe for National Geographic.

5. How is your driving? Are you aggressive behind the wheel or are you patient and generous? Have you gotten any speeding tickets???
    I have gotten compliments that I am a really good driver but I can have some aggression when I am running late.  The only time I got a speeding ticket was when I was 23 and coming to visit Justin in Texas while we were dating.

6. What life lesson do you find yourself having to learn over and over again?
    I am too forgiving.  I always say I will never let someone fool me twice but I usually give them the benefit of the doubt.

7. Do you prefer Coke or Pepsi?
    Fountain Coke.

8. Do you have a favorite Bible verse? If so, what is it?
    Can I just say all of Psalms? But my favs would be Psalm 16:5,  Psalm 27:1, and Psalm 72:12.

9. Which do you prefer - physical books or e-books?
    Ugh, another hard question!  I love books so much but this is what I do:  I normally buy them on my kindle when they go on sale or for free.  If I really like the book, I will buy it in hardback {not a fan of paperback but I do sometimes buy paperback because it's so much cheaper}.  My favorite books?  I love to go to used bookstores and find really old copies of books.  The ones with handwriting inscriptions are my absolute favorite!

10. What one thing do you absolutely not leave home without?
       In the past, I would say my cell phone but recently I have been not relying on it so much.  I would have to go with gum, pen and paper, and chapstick.

11. What one thing scares you the most?
      Something completely out there happening to my son.  Those little "freak accident" stories freak me out so much!
