Okay guys, it's time for another link up {sorta}. See, it used to be a link up but now it's more like a comment up? Instead of linking back to your post/blog, you comment on the post and, if you want, you can post a link to your blog. Got it? Anyway head over to At Home, Take 2 to check it out. {She explains it better than I do}
This weeks topic: How do you allocate chores in your family?
I do them. Period. End of sentence. Just kidding but sometimes it does feel like that.
Since Jay is only three we don't put too much pressure on him but he does have a couple of things he does around the house. One, he has to keep his toys picked up when he isn't playing with them. This should be a no brainer but you know. Two, he feeds the dogs. Okay technically we hand him a cup of dog food and a cup of water and he pours it into their bowls but he is learning responsibility. Then usually he will help with folding the bath towels {which I refold} or washes dishes {which daddy rewashes}. All these things we let him do but then redo is to help him learn that he will have responsibilities.
As for me and the hubs? we usually just split that up. But i will say this. I hardly ever, ever, ever wash the dishes. i loathe it. with a passion. so strong that i cringe writing this.

Our chore allocation is kind of informal - nothing official or written down on "chore charts". The kids (ages 2 and 4) are responsible for picking up their toys and tidying up their rooms. The 4 year old is responsible for putting away her clean clothes after I take them out of the dryer and the 2 year old is working on being able to reliably do that. Both are responsible for bringing me their dirty laundry baskets when they are getting full. They both have to clear their dishes after meals and bring them to the kitchen counter. My husband and I just mostly do whatever needs to be done. He's great at taking out the garbage and cleaning up the kitchen after I cook. Since I'm home all day, I do the majority of the daily housecleaning and I do all grocery shopping and cooking. It works for us!

I absolutely hate dusting, so this is my husband's chore. He also mops the floors as I am so bad and slop so much water about that it can take hours for them to dry! I am so happy not to have to dust or mop that I pretty much do the rest, and we are all happy!
